ELECTRONIC TRADING
In a system of electronic trading, as compared to open outcry, dealing agents execute their order books by way of computer terminals connected to a central server. The latter matches buy and sell orders and determines a price which maximises the number of securities which can be executed.
EQUITY FINANCING or CAPITAL INCREASE
Operation consisting of increasing a company’s share-capital by issuing new shares, in exchange for cash or by increasing the nominal value.
 
EQUITY SECURITY or EQUITY
All categories of share constituting the share capital of a company, as well as all other forms of security deriving from these shares in whatever form or description, which confer rights of ownership on the net assets of the company.
 
EX-COUPON or COUPON-OFF
Term used to express the value of a bond sold without the right to receive the next due interest payment.
EX-DATE or COUPON-CLIPPING DATE
The date on which the share is traded without entitlement to the dividend and the bond is traded without entitlement to the interest payment.
EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING (EGM)
Meeting of shareholders specially convened to rule on a company’s strategic decisions, such as equity issues, mergers, acquisitions etc.
