ACCRUED INTEREST
A bond's accumulated interest made since the last interest payment.
 
ADJUSTED PRICE
The modification made to a security’s price following a corporate action modifying either the number of shares outstanding or the security’s price (issue for cash, bonus issue, dividend payment etc.).
 
 ALLOTMENT RIGHT
Negotiable right attached to shares which may be exercised on the occasion of the issue of new equity by way of a bonus issue.
 
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
Meeting of shareholders at least once a year to approve the accounts of the previous financial year and the management of the company. It is during the AGM that, in particular, the amount to be paid to shareholders in dividends is approved.
 
ARBITRAGE
The simultaneous purchase or sale of the same or different financial instrument, in order to benefit from price differentials.
 
AUCTION or FIXING
Method of trading which involves the matching of bids and offers to establish a clearing price.
